Every morning that I wake up my first thoughts, after warm
thoughts about my loved ones, are creative ideas. And every
night, as I lay my head down on my pillow, I am bombarded
with the ideas I wasn't able to translate into concrete, tangible
art works during the day. And I love it! As long as I can
remember I've loved the process of creating.
I was
first a writer. The sounds of words delighted me. The way
they feel and work together as you join them up, taking them
from a tangled jumble of vowels and consonants into coherent
thoughts that create a feeling, or evoke an emotion in the
reader, started me early on the path to creative endeavors.
And from there, I picked up a paint bursh and discovered the
wonder of turning nothing into something. Transposing a blank
canvas to a unique work of art.
Graphic
design seemed such a natural extension of that early artwork.
It enabled me to put together both the artistic side and the
writer in me. I am able to write the copy for my clients,
crafting the words and the pictures to tell the whole story.
After that, I ventured into photography, delighted with the
way I could capture images that I could use in my graphic
design.
Over
the years I created gifts from my heart for family and friends.
After much prompting I started to sell some items as gifts
and collectibles. My art is a piece of me, becoming my "baby"
and is very personal.
Taking
a small piece of our lives today and holding them in our hands
tomorrow, and all the tomorrows to come letting future
generations have a glimpse of who we were and how much we
loved each other. That's what I hope my art will do.
